Marjorie Balant-Souffrant

Loved and very missed, Marjorie Souffrant was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 12th, 1969. She was the third of four children born to Atelus Balant and Cylotte Balant. She has two sisters, Yolette Balant and Cassandre Balant Batts, and she has one brother, Ludger Kennedy Balant. In Marjorie’s youth, she was lovingly known as “Jo-Jo” to close family.

Marjorie graduated from Bayside High School in Bayside, New York. She earned an Associate degree in Business from Empire State University in New York City.

Marjorie was married to Jackson Souffrant on July 30, 2000. Together they have one daughter, Shiree Souffrant, who is 21 years old. Marjorie enjoyed cooking traditional meals, going to church, and spending time with her husband and daughter. She was well known for remaining in contact with many loved ones. She was also known for being thoughtful, and loving, and extending her kindness to friends and family. She was very gentle.

Marjorie came to know Jesus in her early twenties and continued to walk with the Lord until she passed away on October 14th, 2024. In her passing, she left behind her devoted husband Jackson Souffrant, her beautiful daughter Shiree Souffrant, her Mother in Law Yvette Souffrant, her siblings Cassandre Balant-Batts, Yolette Balant, and brother Ludger Kennedy Balant. She left behind many nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family members who loved her much.

The family is appreciative of the love and support that was expressed to them during this difficult time of grief. Thank you.
