Marie Antoinette Jeanne Volel (born Thebaud),

age 105, of Elmont, New York,

passed away at her residence on January 23, 2025

She was born on June 3, 1919 in Jacmel, Haiti to the late Amaranthe Lofficial and Dumond Thebaud. Loved by her family and friends, Jeanne Volel personified patience, kindness and serenity. Her gentle, warm and welcoming smile left an indelible impression on everyone she came into contact with.

Jeanne was a very talented and dedicated seamstress that amazed her clients. Any piece of cloth was magically transformed into a dress, a skirt to the complete satisfaction of everyone. Moreover she was an incredible business woman that managed a boutique and a deli store together with success for many years.

She will be truly missed. Her life was a blessing --- and her memory remains a treasure. As we grapple with the loss of her physical presence, we found solace in knowing that her spirit lives through the love she instilled in us.

She is preceded in death by her father and her mother. Jeanne Volel is survived by her nephews, niece and a host of cousins.
