Louis Joseph Frank Dantica

December 15, 1943 ~ March 20, 2022 (age 78)

Pastor Louis Joseph Frank Dantica was the youngest of five children born to Lorvana Miracin and Nozial Osnac. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Joseph Nozius, Ilyana, Estina, Miracin, and Rezia Dantica. Through his work as a deacon and preacher, he worked diligently to enrich the lives of members of his community, both in Port-au-Prince and several Haitian provinces, and later throughout the Haitian community in New York, including in Brooklyn, Long Island, and Queens.

As a young man, Louis fell in love with and married the widowed Martha Volcy Bien-Aimé. He and our mother are the proud parents of Kettly and Leonne Bien-Aimé. Michael and Shelia Dantica, whom he will join in heaven along with our mother. Betty-Ester, Jean-Caleb, Mendy, Emmanuella, Mimose Marjorie and Marie-Hemine Dantica. We are all saddened by our father’s passing, but we are  inspired by God’s promise of eternal life.

His journey on this earth began on Wednesday, December 15, 1943, in Léogane, Haiti,  and ended on Sunday, March 20, 2022,  at 4:07 PM, at the Atrium Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn, New York. He was surrounded by his beloved niece Edwidge, her husband Fedo,  and nephew Karl as well as  his daughter Mendy Dantica, who has been his constant companion, and caretaker for the last decade, and was,  as usual, by his side, providing comfort through song and prayers as the Heavens prepared to receive him.

In Heaven, he joins his beloved brother Miracin and his sister in law Rose. His oldest brother, pastor Joseph Nozius and his wife Denise, his sisters, Ilyana, Estina, and Rezia are also waiting to greet him with open arms. Our grandparents Vital and Pricile, and Jean-Nicolas Volcy who have been guiding his steps on earth will now be guiding him in Heaven.

His legacy continues through his children and grandchildren, to whom he has taught that no matter what difficulties we face, we will prevail as a family. Shelove and Yvensky, Lovensky Adelpin, Frantasia Sanz, Danisha Dantica and Sirani Francois. Isaiah Peterson Datilus, Nathan and Thamar Roger Kyan, Norah, Caleb and Nina Dantica will ensure that his tradition of faith and love continues! As a verse from one of your favorite psalms says, (Psalm 103:13) “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.”  We know you are now in your father’s compassionate arms and we all love you beyond what any words can express.

The viewing will take place on Friday April, 8 2022 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and the funeral will be on Saturday April, 9 2022 from 8:00 AM - 10:00 Am.
