Lelio Destin

Lelio “Herman” Destin, age 75, took his last breath on August 4, 2026, at Downstate Hospital.

Lelio “Herman” Destin was born on July 18, 1951, in Au Cap, Haiti to Elince Jacques and Delima Destin. He had one brother, Jean-Robert Jacques, and three sisters, Adrienne Destin, Denise Destin, and Mercilie Destin. Herman came to America in the 1980s, where he was a taxi driver for a period of time and then found this lifelong passion, which was being a barber. He enjoyed what he did and hardly missed a day of working at the barbershop.

Herman leaves behind many people who loved him, including his daughters Johanne Destin, Elicha Destin, and Lakisha Verna; his stepdaughter Laudz Martine Narcisse and Franssica Volcy. His Step sons  Kenny Volcy and Steven Charles. His grandchildren Ezra Turner, Azai Turner, Tori Turner, Jailen Lahens Pierre, Liam Micheal Pierre, Averie Nia Pierre and Kyle Brown. His step-grandchildren Gzell Dantan, Dutchkn Dantan, Paisleigh Moreau, Khaleo Leonard, Darius Jeremiah Desir, and Ava Volcy. His Nieces and Nephews: Edwood Destin, Jean- Baptise Destin, Carlo Perceval, Gareld Perceval, Lordson Jean- Pierre, Ed-rico Destin, Gerline Destin, Esther Destin, Woodyne Perceval, Darlin Perceval, Fiama Jean-Pierre, and Laury Jean Pierre.

Herman’s life was a blessing, and his memory is a treasure. He will be deeply missed. Today, we don’t mourn a loss but celebrate a life that was truly lived.
