Jean Smith Balthazar

Jean Smith Balthazar also known as Smith was born in  Jean Rabel, Haiti to Mathieu and Norgelie Balthazar on July 1st 1955.  He went to school in Port Au Prince. He graduated from Lycee Toussaint Louverture. He then traveled to the United Stated where he continued his studies and where he later became self-employed in the Auto Mechanic Industry for 20 years. He was a member of Evangelical Crusade Christian Church for many years. 

Smith loved to listen to music, dance, and making CD’s. 

He was a very intelligent, dependable, honest, warm, open minded person that had a smile that would light a room up. Smith loved his family and loved to joke.

Smith unfortunately transitioned on March 9th, 2022. He fought hard but in the end he died peacefully with his family at his bedside.

Smith is preceded in death by his Father Mathieu, Mother Norgelie, Brother Ralphael and Son Mathieu Balthazar.  

Smith is survived by daughter Sandy Balthazar-Delia, son Prince Balthazar, son Marvin Balthazar, brothers Witni Balthazar and David Balthazar, sister Emilia B. Charles, Grandchildren Jaiden, Kyle and Gianni, Sanaya Delia; Demyiest, Mathieu Jr., Xavier and Issac Balthazar.

The family is appreciative of the love expressed towards them and would like to thank everyone for their constant support during this difficult time of grief. The family would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Kings County Hospital Staff, Fernande Valme Ministry and Evangelical Crusade Christian Church.
