It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erick Joseph on November 5, 2024, at the age of 68. Erick was born on April 22, 1956, in St. Marc, Haiti to Andre Joseph and Erla Federique.
In 1984, Erick immigrated to New York and began his journey in the U.S. Erick was known for his strong will, unwavering determination, and love for his family and community. Throughout his professional career, he worked in the mechanic and transportation field. He thrived in his career at the MTA as a NYC bus driver until he retired in 2021. He was known in his local neighborhood in Astoria, NY for having a cheerful disposition and a personable attitude.
Erick Joseph is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marie C. Joseph, daughter, Emmanuelle Joseph Parry, son-in-law, Herman Parry, grandson, Malachi Parry; daughter Erla Bozier, grandson, Stephenson Morris Jr., granddaughter Erinna Harris; son, Ricardo Joseph, daughter-in-law, Lise M. Brown, granddaughters Chloe Joseph, Maya Joseph; daughter, Ericka Pierre, son-in-law, Teddy Pierre, granddaughter Janelle Pierre, grandson, Daniel Pierre; daughter, Sherley Joseph, grandson, Elijah Ruiz, granddaughter, Avianna Ruiz; son, Sam Joseph; and son, Jesse Joseph, grandson Jacob Joseph, granddaughter Ariella Joseph; brother, Duckins Joseph; half-brother, Jean Robert Joseph; nephew, nieces, and numerous cousins.
Erick lived a life of perseverance driven by a desire to produce the best outcomes for his family and himself. While our hearts mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at El Shaddai H. Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY. The family requests that for those who want to gift flowers please do so by sending them to the wake service on Friday November 22, 2024.
