Obituary

Celebrating the life of our beloved Daniel Isaiah Prezeau

Daniel Isaiah Prezeau, was born March 21, 2005 in Jamaica Hospital, Queens, NY.  He was the second of four children born to Adele Audige Prezeau and Patrice Prezeau. From an early age Daniel displayed a sweet spirit. He attended PS 37Q, and later transferred to and graduated from PS/IS 270Q. He was currently attending George Washington Carver High School where he was in the nursing program and enrolled in a program for a 4 year college scholarship. The semester before school closed due to the pandemic, Daniel joined Carver’s wrestling team. His warm heart endeared him to teachers and students alike.

While at PS/IS 270, Daniel’s musical and theatrical talents were revealed. He starred as one of the hyenas in the Lion King. The next year, he auditioned for the role of Link in HairSpray and we received the first glimpse of his melodious voice and charming manner. He rendered an unforgettable performance demonstrating his acting skills, while portraying one so very different from his off stage persona. Daniel’s perseverance and dedication made him an asset to the cast. His excellent work ethic, infectious smile and warm heart made him unforgettable both on and off stage.

He was a member of the Salvation Church of God in Brooklyn, NY. where he served in the pantry and Hospitality Ministries. Daniel could be found preparing and serving meals for the parishioners and bagging groceries for the food pantry. He also set up the dining room and cleaned up after services. Daniel was loved by the entire congregation.

Daniel was a very kind  and loving soul. He was a people person. To him there were no strangers. When you met him he instantly became close to you.

One of Daniel’s favorite pastimes was eating. His favorite meal was diri ak legim (rice and vegetables with shrimp and crab) and he enjoyed many other dishes.

Daniel truly loved his family. They were a close knit group.  He was a wonderful brother. Although younger, he always looked out for his big brother David. He and his sister Abbigail were fiercely protective of each other and would keep each other’s secrets. As she said, “Daniel was my brother and best friend.”  He and his little brother Samuel were great playmates. He was a very good son. He and his dad liked to joke around and discuss the day. Dad said, “He was not only my son but we had a very strong bond.” Daniel was also a true mommy’s boy. The pair could often be found watching reality shows or live streaming church together. His loss is great and his memory sweet.

Daniel desired to become a pastor one day. His life has been a sermon because he lived as a true follower of Jesus Christ. He loved Jesus and spread His love to everyone he met. His life was a reflection of the love he received from the God he served. The gift of God is love and Daniel was a walking example of love in action. He desired that everyone would come to know and love the Lord so if you haven’t committed your life to Jesus please do so today. This would be the best way to honor Daniel’s legacy.

On Tuesday, February 22nd, God called Daniel home. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his parents,  Adele and Patrice,  brother David, sister Abbigail, brother Samuel, best friend Joshua,  and a host of family members and friends.

“To be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8

Daniel, we will love and miss you every day.

                                                              Lovingly submitted by the family
