Mr. Jean was born on June 26, 1930 in the southern province of Jacmel, Haiti. He is survived by his bride of 57 years, Elalie Jean. Together, the couple raised their sons Patrick, Apostle Hans Jean, and have been blessed with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
At the tender age of 23 years old, Mr. Jean served in the Haitian military during the Papa Doc regime. His diligence and integrity enabled him to achieve the rank of sergeant; this office presented him with the honor of guarding the National Palace of Haiti for 10 years.
In 1972, Mr. Jean migrated to New York City, where he became a factory worker. In 1978, he gave his life to Christ and became a member of the Gospel Crusade Church in Utica, NY. A year later, Mr. Jean was able to successfully purchase a home. By 1995, he celebrated his retirement––a milestone that few have the privilege to enjoy for several decades. Amid his retirement, Mr. Jean faithfully served his Gospel Crusade Church family until 2012, when the Lord sent him to reside in Delanco, New Jersey. For 34 years, Mr. Jean served as a Sunday school teacher. In the church, he also maintained the office of a Deacon and Homme Missionnaire (missionary). Throughout the various responsibilities that he maintained in his lifetime as a husband, father, sergeant, factory worker, deacon, and missionary, Mr. Jean always underscored the value of moral character, excellence in stewardship, commitment, and above all integrity. His life remains a testimony of God’s unfailing grace and mercy to those who believe and rest in Christ.
