Betty Camille, 54 years old, of Brooklyn, NY., transitioned on Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Mount Sinai Brooklyn Hospital with her son and husband by her side. She battled 2 years of health complications, was diagnosed with AML 9 months ago, and was in remission for the past 3 months. She unfortunately developed a skin infection which led to sepsis and her untimely passing.
Betty was born on May 10th, 1967 to Roland and Marie Rosette St. Victor in Port Au Prince, Haiti. They immigrated to Brooklyn, NY 1970 where she grew to become a skilled, dedicated and beloved nurse for 32 years at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Long Island University in 1988 with a B.S. Nursing. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, watching television, taking care of her family, and spending as much time as she could with them.
In 1989, Betty married the love of her life, Jean-Louis M. Camille. She is survived by her husband; her parents; her 3 children Marsha, Philip, and Sandra; 3 grandchildren Shania, Isaiah, and Jasmine; and 3 siblings Johnny, Ronald, and Karine. She will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. The wake and funeral services will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021, from 8:30 - 11:00am at French Speaking Baptist Church/Eglise Baptiste d'Expression Francaise at 209 Clermont Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11205. The final committal service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery 500 25th Street Brooklyn NY, 11232.
