Bernadette Saintil was born to her late mother Zoule Sainne St Martin and father Limenes Saintil. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 18th, 2022, at 69 years old, at home, Surrounded by her loving family.
Sœur Bernadette was affectionately known as “Miss Dedette,” She was very humble and full of love. She was born in Pilates, Haiti, on January 30th, 1953. She retired after a successful and long career of 37 years in nursing at the "la providence" hospital of Gonaives, Haiti. She will be remembered for her many accomplishments.
Dedette had a passion for helping people. She had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. She had an uncanny ability to reach profoundly and positively. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.
She was happy to be the central figure in her children's lives: Valerie Chatelain, her daughter; Herve Chatelain, her son; Michael Toby Brown, her grandson; Mary Cene, her sister, and her cousins. Anyone knew she was a star in their eyes, and that's all that mattered to her. She was a great mother who always supported and loved her family. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will miss her profoundly.
The family appreciates the love expressed towards them and would like to thank each and every one for their constant support during this difficult time of grief. The family would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Oncologist team of New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, MJHS Hospice Team, and the Frantz Daniel Jean Funeral Services.
